A professional site visit to the reconstruction of the Grand Villa Argentina hotel in Dubrovnik was recently organized by the Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers. The project is one of the most technically and spatially demanding undertakings in the region.
Marko Dabrović, partner at 3LHD, held a presentation for the participants, outlining the development of the design, the reconstruction concept, and the key architectural and technical challenges. The presentation was followed by a guided tour of the construction site, led by the contractor, highlighting the complexity of the works in a highly sensitive urban and landscape context.
The reconstruction of the Grand Villa Argentina includes the revitalization of a historic hotel complex, the expansion of accommodation capacities, and the enhancement of public and hotel facilities, with a strong emphasis on integrating contemporary design within the cultural, historical and natural value of the site. The project requires close collaboration between architects, engineers, and numerous specialist teams to deliver a modern, functional, and sustainable hotel development.
