We celebrated 30 years of work

29. November 2024

This year, 3LHD marks an important milestone – 30 years of successful work and creating architecture. The studio was founded in 1994 by Saša Begović, Marko Dabrović, Tatjana Grozdanić Begović, and Silvije Novak, following their victory in an architectural competition while still students. Later, partner Paula Kukuljica joined them. Today, the studio comprises over 60 team members with diverse profiles – architects, designers, and business support staff led by general manager Vlado Karmelić.
Over 250 architects and collaborators from various fields have contributed to 3LHD’s growth and success through an impressive 340 projects over the past three decades. On Friday, November 29, we celebrated this significant anniversary at the former Urania cinema on Kvaternik Square in Zagreb. Friends, partners, and representatives of government and local authorities joined us for the event, which featured socializing and an exhibition of both successful and unrealized projects.
The pop-up exhibition "3LHD x 30" highlighted the individuals responsible for these achievements and showcased memorable moments from the studio's rich thirty-year history. Projects like the Memorial Bridge, Croatian pavilion at the EXPO in Japan, the Split waterfront (Riva), the Bale sports hall, numerous representative hotels, business buildings, and residential blocks have established the studio’s reputation in professional circles as well as among a broader domestic and international audience. However, all this represents just a part of the legacy that dates back to the studio’s formation during a period of societal transition and complete paradigm shifts in the social and market context. These circumstances shaped the development of 3LHD, which is characterized by perseverance, dedication to projects, and determination.
